Lucas is Six Months Old!

Lucas is now six months old, I can't believe how fast time goes by! He is 28 inches tall (94th percentile!) and weighs 16 pounds. He is a very active baby and enjoys scooting around the living room trying to get things with buttons (ie: laptop, dvr, phone). The doctor was impressed by how strong he is, as he was trying to do crunches right on the table in front of her! He loves to make different sounds and repsond to Steve and I when we talk with him. I believe he may have said "dada" but I am not quite sure, although Steve is pretty sure :). We purchased his next car seat and are getting the new stroller ready as it becomes evident that he is too long for his infant carrier. How bittersweet!

Swimming!

Yesterday Lucas had his first swim lesson at South Run Recreation Center. When we first entered the water he was very calm, looking around and taking it all in. He didn't cry one bit, and I think he really enjoyed being in the water. As for me, I had a great time!

Gliding with mommy and learning how to kick. Maybe a little unsure?!

Just splashed mommy in the face!

Lucas and Will are swim shirt twins!

Sitting Up!

Last weekend I was saying to Steve, "I wonder when Lucas is going to start sitting up." It's as if Lucas was listening! We got to the party, I plopped him down and he did it! Go Lucas!

Lucas Starts Solids!

Lucas began eating rice cereal at five months of age. We transitioned into oatmeal cereal (which he liked a lot better!) and last week we were ready to start peas! At first taste peas were not his favorite, but by the end of the week he was tolerating them a bit better. Lucas now has his oatmeal in the morning and peas at dinner time. Next week, green beans!

Here is Lucas in his highchair eating his peas. He was a very good sport considering they weren't his favorite! I have also been giving him some water in his sippy cup at each meal after reading that it is a good habit to begin when introducing solids. The idea made sense to me, considering that adults like to have a beverage with their meal too :)

I use the Babycook to make my own baby food. My sister-in-law purchased this machine for us and I am very appreciative! I can make a large supply of food in 15 minutes! Thanks Frances!

Christmas in New Hampshire

Here we are at Steve sister Fran's house for Lucas' first Christmas!

Lucas with Papa Luke

Lucas with Grandma Sewall...he really wanted that candy cane and he got it too!

Lucas with Grandpa Sewall. Many say he resembles his grandpa...

Lucas with his Aunt Fran and Uncle Ken (also his Godparents)

Each morning we enjoyed coffee and some music in the hot tub!
