Craft Group Reunion

Last Friday I was able to go out with my former co-workers and friends to Rosa Mexicana in the National Harbor. It was such a treat considering only 2 of us still reside in VA. It was great to reminisce about the "good old days" but then also chat about how much our lives have changed. The following day we got the kids together for a play date. I only wish we could do this every month!

Lucas Turns 2!

Lucas had a wonderful birthday this year! He woke up with Grandma and Papa at our house to a living room full of exciting presents and balloons. After playing a bit, he had pancakes and then it was off to his party! We did a train theme this year because Lucas loves Thomas the Train. His friends really enjoyed riding the train at Burke Lake Park, and I think they really liked the cake and ice cream too! At 2 years, Lucas is 35 inches tall and weighs 28 lbs. He loves to talk and play pretend. Some of his favorite things to do are shoot basketball, play cars, watch Baby Einstein or Sesame Street, read books or play musical instruments. You can see a little spark of mischief in his eye, which I think is rather charming :). All in all he is a pretty great kid!

Allie Elizabeth turns 3 Months!

I can't believe how fast the time is flying! Allie was 3 months old on Lucas' birthday (they were both born on the 10th of the month). She is a happy baby and we are all starting to get the swing of things! Allie now goes down for bed around 8:30, the same time as her brother. She sleeps until 5:45 and then sometimes goes back down until 8 am. She likes to take a morning nap around 9 am and another nap around 2:30 or 3 in her crib. She is just about ready for size 2 diapers, but still fits comfortably in her 0-3 month clothes. That's a good thing because we received a lot of cute summer outfits in that size! Her new things this month are gurgling and giggling out loud and beginning to hold her head up at tummy time!

We went on our first road trip to NH since Allie has been born. Lucas and Allie did a great job both on the trip down and back, despite it taking 13 hours. We were able to meet the new babies Kenny and Stevie and spend the 4th of July together. We also celebrated Lucas' 2nd birthday while we were there!

A few weekends ago we decided to check out the National Harbor. We walked around the beautiful Gaylord Resort and had lunch at Ketchup. It was a nice family day!
